Randy Simkins is “Mr. Softball” in St. George, Utah!
Before serving in his current role of Head Coach at NCAA Division 1 Dixie State University Softball, Coach Simkins made an impact on the hardwood, and on the diamond, or more accurately, the baseball and softball diamonds - plural.

As an athlete, Coach Simkins was an outstanding high school baseball and basketball player, and went on to play basketball at Southern Utah University. These days he continues to play competitive Men's Fast Pitch Softball.

As a Softball Coach, he has coached championship Softball on the high school, NJCAA, and NCAA Division 2 levels, all in the same town, St. George, Utah, first at Dixie High School, and then at Dixie State College; which became NCAA Division 2 Dixie State University. After meeting all of those challenges with great success, his current challenge is leading Dixie State University Softball in the transition to NCAA Division 1!

We can learn from Coach Simkins’ experience in developing high school players, and recruiting and developing athletes on the JC, D2 and D1 levels.
