HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
Because our children played sports, and because Alan had coached numerous sports on the youth to college levels, parents would often ask about how to get started with the recruiting process, how to connect with college coaches, and how to earn scholarships. Unfortunately, along the way we saw some gifted athletes get late starts on the process, or miss out completely because they were unfamiliar with the process. So we had a desire to help parents as they attempted to assist their young athletes in their pursuit of their dreams of playing the sports they loved at the college level. The result is this podcast & website! They are designed to provide a resource families can turn to for education & insights, to hear from college coaches/recruiters, and to have their questions answered.
HOST & WRITER
Alan Nakamura is currently assistant coach of NCAA Division 1 Women's Basketball at Utah Tech,. He also served. as a member of the NCAA Women's Basketball Playing Rules Committee. His coaching experience spans over 35 years among a variety of sports at a variety of levels: youth, high school, club, community college, and the 4 year level.
He and Franci are the parents of four adult children - two went on to play college sports. He'd like to thank Franci, his wife of 30 years for helping to put this podcast & website together.
