As a college student-athlete, Coach Paul Stumpf anchored the defense for nationally ranked Santa Rosa Junior College, and then moved on to help San Diego State University soccer reach the #17 ranking in the nation! Now Coach Stumpf is heading into his 22nd year as the winningest Head Coach in UC Santa Barbara Soccer history! 

Coach Stumpf started his career as a head coach in 1999 when he took over a struggling Gauchos women’s soccer program, and immediately lifted the team to contend for a conference title. At the conclusion of that first year Coach Stumpf was honored as the Big West Conference Coach of the Year. 

After that impressive debut Coach Stumpf and the Gauchos have not looked back – they have been an annual contender for the Big West Conference, and Conference Tournament championship, have made numerous trips to the NCAA National Tournament, and along the way Coach Stumf has.earned more Conference Coach of the Year honors.
