Coach Gustin’s rise in the coaching ranks travelled through a variety stops in Montana and Utah. He played his collegiate basketball at the University of Montana-Western, and then served as an Assistant Coach with NAIA Women’s Basketball programs at his alma mater, at Rocky Mountain College in Montana, and then at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Soon Coach Gustin was promoted to Head Coach, and his Westminster teams became annual qualifiers for the NAIA National Tournament.
After his time at Westminster he moved onto Division 1 stops at the University of Utah, and Weber State University, before assuming the Head job at NCAA Dixie State University, which now is transitioning the program to the Division 1 level.
Coach Gustin is a valuable source for us to learn from as he has recruited as an Assistant Coach, and a Head Coach, at the NAIA, NCAA Division 2, and NCAA Division 1 levels at mid-Major and Power 5 programs.
He has first-hand experience, and insightful perspective, regarding the exciting opportunities that are available at a variety of levels of college athletics for aspiring prospects.
