North Central College, Naperville, IL

Coach Mathey has led college baseball programs on the NCAA Division 3 level at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, from 1994 – 2002, then moved onto NCAA Division 1 Northern Illinois University for the 2003 – 2014 seasons, and now has been back leading the North Central program again since 2015. 

Along the way his teams have won multiple conference and regional championships, has made numerous trips to the Division 3 College World Series, and his 2017 team advanced to the national Semi-Final game.

Coach Mathey has done things the right way, as evidenced by his numerous Coach of the Year, and Regional Coach of the Year Awards, and by his program being honored with the American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award in 2018 and 2019.

Coach Mathey has valuable perspective to share as he has experienced the recruiting process on the D1 and D3 levels, has mentored players at both levels, and has seen the value of the student-athlete experience at both levels.
